Programme details:

DAY 1: meeting with the Mountain Guide and briefing. After reaching Cornisello Refuge with a transfer from Nambrone Valley, we take the path to reach the Segantini Refuge (2373 m). This path goes along the majestic east walls of Presanella, Monte Nero and Cima Cornisello crossing the Bocchetta dell’Om. The impressive environment setting where the trail leads is enhanced by the the beautiful Lago Nero whose waters seem to emerge from the Brenta Group. +260m / -0m / 3h

 

DAY 2: from Segantini Refuge we go along "Lino Datovo", to arrive to the Passo dei Quattro Cantoni (2809 m), down along Val Nardis to bivouac Roberti (2204 m). From here we arrive in Val Genova, at the Nardis Falls and by bus transfer we reach the Refuge Bedole (1641m). +450m / -1850m / 6h

 

DAY 3: from Bedole Refuge starts the trail that leads to Mandrone Refuge going through and visiting the "Centro Studi Adamello Julius Payer". In the afternoon we hike to Lagoscuro Lake (2670 m) whit the amazing view of the Cima Payer. Descend to the Mandrone Refuge (2449 m) +1000m / -250m / 8h

 

DAY 4: along the lake we gain altitude to cross the Mandrone glacier and reach a final pronounced strech, walking with crampons and roped with the Alpine Guides, the Refuge to ai Caduti dell’ Adamello (3040 m). In the afternoon a short lesson of tying basics on glacier and simulation of a recovery from a crevasse. Return to the Refuge. Dinner and overnight. +600m / -0m / 5h

 

DAY 5: towards the Corno di Cavento (3042 m), and just below the summit, we will visit the famous restored tunnel, built by the Austrians to control the movements of the Alpine (Italian military) on the glacier. From here we descent to Niscli Sella (2912 m) reaching in a short time the Carè Alto Refuge (2495 m). In this area a true citadel at high altitude was built by the Austrians, where hundreds of soldiers lived. +600m / -900m / 8h

 

DAY 6: we follow the path down to the characteristic granite stair of the "Bus dal Gat" and leads to P.so Altar (2390 m). From the P.so Altar we descend along the Siniciaga Valley to Malga Bassa Germenega (1581 m). Hence, along the Germenega Valley, we reach the San Giuliano Refuge (1950 m). +250m / -800m / 7h

 

DAY 7: from San Giuliano Refuge we go up to Vacarsa Lake and continue to the Bocca dell'Acqua Fredda (2184 m), then down through the Garzonè Lake and Malga Campastril we arrive to Pozza di Vacche (1485 m). Transfer to Pinzolo. +200m / -700m / 3h
