gold champion. The Official Tourism Board supports the winter sports athletes 


They are six, they practice winter sports - alpine skiing, snowboarding and short track -, they have been supported for the season 2016/17 by the Madonna di Campiglio Pinzolo Val Rendena Tourist Board. Andrea Ballerin, Vladislav Khadarin, Alberto Maffei, Cecilia Maffei, Laura Pirovano and Paolo Pangrazzi are their names. The Tourism Board is proud of this project, dedicated to the young local sports champions.


For the third consecutive year, the Tourism Board lines up a group of young athletes at the starting blocks of the international circuits in the disciplines of the alpine ski, snowboard and short track. Six athletes that are ambassadors in the world of the resort Madonna di Campiglio-Pinzolo-Val Rendena: four of them were born in the western Trentino, two of them has chosen this area for their training.


Alberto Maffei (snowboard) and Paolo Pangrazzi (ski) are from Madonna di Campiglio, Cecilia Maffei (short track) is from Pinzolo while Laura Pirovano (ski) is from Mortaso-Spiazzo Rendena. Andrea Ballerin (ski) is from Trento whilee Vladislav Khadarin, one of the most talented snowboarder in the world, is from Siberia, but he has been living in Madonna di Campiglio for 4 years, where he trains with the Freestyle Ski Accademy. He is 19 years old and he is part of the Russia National Team: he has been the first athlete in the world in realizing a Fs 1800. Cecilia Maffei, already an expert in the Italian National Short Track Team, is working for gaining a result in the Olympic Games  2018 in South Corea. For her it could be her fourth participation. 

Alberto Maffei, like Laura Pirovano, is at his first season in the World Cup with the Italian ski team and their are growing challenging together with the biggest world champions. The slalom  and giant specialist Andrea Ballerin is competing in the World Cup with the Italian team, while the sprinter Paolo Pangrazzi is going on with their carrier racing in the World Cup and European Cup. In the combined race of Wengen (January 13, 2017) he was the best Italian, gaining the thirteenth place.


Champions, professional athletes, rising stars that compete in the Italian and international races in their sports disciplines: Khadarin, on January 7, 2017, made his debut in the World Cup in Moscow and won the big air; Laura Pirovano, on March 12, 2017, won the juniores world title in the giant slalom after a very great sports season, always in the first ten in all the races. Cecilia Maffei won the European gold medal in the short track relay race and the silver medal in the World Cup in Dresda. Alberto Maffei won the gold medal in the Kronplatz Air.

Andrea Ballerin: 28 years old, from Trento, specialist in slalom and giant slalom, Italian athlete racing in the European Cup and FIS World Cup, where he arrived in the first 30 in the slalom of Levi on November 13, 2017 and sixth in the giant slalom of Val D'Isere, valid for the European Cup of alpine ski 2016/2017. Sports section: Fiamme Oro Moena.

Vladislav Khadarin: 19 years old, reigning Italian champion for slope style, third in the Italian National Championships Big Air, he belongs to the Russia National Snowboard team and he won the Big Air World Cup in Moscow . He is seventh in the overall placings of Big Air World Cup..  

Alberto Maffei: 21 years old, from Madonna di Campiglio, belongs to the Italian slopestyle Snowboard -team A. Last year he won the silver medal in the European Cup, both for slopestyle and big air. In Plan de Corones, he got the first place in the important event Kronplatz Air; at the moment in the World Cup he is the third Italian athlete for Big Air and the fifth  for Slopestyle.


Cecilia Maffei: 32 year old, from Pinzolo, short track speed champion 500m, 1.000m, 1.500m and relay race. Three Olympic Games with the Italian National Team, two golds in the Italian relay race in the World Cup 2015-2016 and third for the European. Gold medal in the relay race at the European championships Torino 2017. Sports section: Fiamme azzurre (penitentiary police force).

Paolo Pangrazzi: 29 years old, from Madonna di Campiglio, Alpine skiing champion for downhill, Super-G and super-combined disciplines. Best result in 2011 (6th in the Garmisch Wold Championships) in 2013 he won the national title of downhill skiing. In the 2014-2015 season he got the third place for the European Cup - Men's Super Combined, first Italian athlete with the thirteenth place in the combined race in Wengen 2017.  Sports section: Fiamme Oro Moena

Laura Pirovano: 20 years, from Spiazzo Rendena, polyvalent Alpine skiing champion, on December 28, 2015 debuted in the World Cup in the Lienz giant. Closed the season as third in the general placement of the European Cup and fifth in that one of giant slalom, that was valid for a place in the World Cup for the season 2016-2017. On March 12, 2017 she won the juniores giant world championships in Sweden.
