Carlo Magno in Val Rendena

The legendary expedition of Carlo Magno

 

A long writing of the Sixteenth century on the wall, in the lower part of the fresco, dates back to more ancient parchments. It describes in details the legendary expedition of the Frankish king from Bergamo to Valle Camonica and to Trentino.

Waiting for the historians to make light  on this ancient document, there is no doubt that the legendary expedition of Carlo Magno, described in detailed in the “Privilegio di Santo Stefano” in Carisolo, finds a precise confirmation and cherishes till now, after many centuries, an extraordinary charm…
