Via Geoalpina

The “Via GeoAlpina” is an important project born within the International Year of Planet Earth, called by ONU for the three-year period 2007-2009. It brings all age tourists and hikers to discover the secrets of our Earth. Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland offer the opportunity to know the ancient and deep origin of their most fascinating areas

Complex geological processes, that originated before man appeared on Earth and that characterized life, culture and tradition of people, are made known through selected itineraries.

The goal of this project is to reveal the geological heritage, to make know the richness of our Earth and to discover the opportunities that Earth gives.

will make you discover the rich geo-diversity of the Geopark. In fact, there are two different areas with their own geological features: the Brenta Dolomites with their sedimentary rocks, peaks and  donjons almost without superficial hydrography and Adamello with its crystalline rocks, several rivers, gorges, waterfalls, at the feet of the biggest glacier of the Italian Alps.
