The gastronomy of the Rendena Valley is traditionally characterized by wholesome cooking based on natural local products from the forest, alpine pastures, and livestock, but alongside this traditional style it has also envolved a profound knowledge of haute cusine, served in refined restaurants and cosy “stube” cellars that can soften the edge of even the chilliest winters.

 

Charcuterie and cheeses, polenta, wild mushrooms and roe-deer have always been the most typical dishes of the Val Rendena, that you can taste in the farm holidays, in the restaurants of the valley or in one of the mountain chalet, that you can reach by snowcats and where you can have a good dinner.

 

For those of you that want more than just local Trentino cuisine and are looking for a true culinary journey, a number of Val Rendena restaurants offer the finest in culinary art from all around Italy. In  Madonna di Campiglio there are three restaurants that received a one-star rating in the Michelin Guide: Stube Hermitage, Gallo Cedrone and Dolomieu.
