Giovanni Lorenzetti, a promising skiroll talent
Born in 2003, Giovanni Lorenzetti starts skiing with the U.S. Carisolo, at the age of 6 years old.
In 2015 he faces with his first Skiroll-competitions, summer discipline which is technically like cross-country skiing, in which Giovanni praises 3 Italian Championships medals.
He achieves his best results in uphill races where he placed 3rd and 4th at the Italian Championship.
Summoned in September 2019 by the National team for the World Cup races, he first achieved an 8th place and then, in the Trento Sprint, a 12th place.
In 2020 spring, he becomes part of the National Junior Team and, after a race-free summer due to Covid-19, he was reappointed in the 2021 team.
He achieved two podiums in the junior World Cup races and ended the 2021 season with a sixth place overall in the Junior World Cup and a brilliant first place in the U20 Italian Cup.
The 2022 season is full of results and satisfactions, with an exciting first place in the pursuit distance in Valle D’Aosta region (first podium for Giovanni in the overall classification).
He ended the season in ninth place in the overall absolute ranking and in second place in the overall Under-20 Italian Cup ranking.
In the Juniores World Championships, at the end of a race fought to the last metre, Giovanni took the third step of the podium in the mass start in Madona (Latvia), repeating the result obtained in the Latvian town the previous season.
