Giovanelli Helene, specialist in lifesaving pool swimming
Giovanelli Helene from Storo, born in 2002, is a specialist in Swimming for Safety in the pool.
Since 2012, she is a member of the “Amici Nuoto Riva” team and has been practising this discipline since 2014, followed by coach Nicolò Rigatti and Sports Director Lorella Danti.
Lifeguard swimming is characterised by having competitions in the sea and in the pool, but Helene stands out most in the latter, particularly in the 50m dummy transport, 100m mixed course, 200m superlife, 100m dummy-fins, 100m dummy-fins torpedo, 200m hurdle.
In 2016, in the girl’s category, she obtained the first Italian record in the 50m dummy (38,36) unbeaten until 2021.
In 2019 she received the first Azzurri call-up to the Youth collegiate in Ostia and in September she then participated at the European Championships in Riccione where she set the European youth record in the 4x50m hurdles relay.
In 2021, after being called up for 6 collegiate training camps with the Absolute National Team, she took part at the European Championships in Castellon de la Plana and the Orange Cup, Amersfoort (Netherlands), where she won 3 gold medals and 1 bronze medal (with Italian record). In December, she participated at the Absolute Italian Championships in Milan where she reached the Italian record in the 4x50 hurdles relay.
Nowadays she holds the best Italian performance ever: record in the 50m dummy transport (4th world time) and second Italian time in the 100m mixed course.
In July 2022, she participated at the “World Games 2022” (USA) defending the Italian colours in the dummy relay and 3 relays: she won the gold medal in the 4x50 mixed relay, silver in the lifesaver relay, bronze in the 4x50 mini-marathon, a 4th place in the 50 dummy individual event and a 6th place in the 100 mixed course.
Till now she reached 75 medals at the Italian Championships: 2 Italian individual and 9 relay records; 2 Italian relay records; 14 medals in the international field (5 European Championships, 4 European Youth Championships); 1 youth relay world record, 3 medals at the Lifesaving World Championships 2022.
In September 2022 she won at the World Cup Championships in Riccione, a silver medal, a bronze one and the world title in the 4x50 pool lifesaver relay; furthermore in November 2022 Helene won a gold Medal at the Swim.Mi.Cup.

Gold and silver at the German Open Championships in Düsseldorf.
Gold in the 100 mixed course at the Italian Championships in Riccione and qualification for the World Swimming Championships in Australia.
