Among the Lobbia and Adamello-Mandrone glaciers, the setting of the "white war", the lodge at the foot of the upper Lobbia, famously built for a visit of Pope John Paul II in the summer of 1986, is open from June to September. In the spring, it is open for ski mountaineering activities.
Access: only by ski mountaineering on the glacier – from Bedole in Val Genova by trail no. 212 to Rifugio Mandròn (also accessible from Tonale Pass by way of the Presena glacier and Maroccaro Pass) followed by trail no. 239 by way of the Mandrone glacier (5 hours); from Bedole by way of the arduous Materòt trail (no. 241) and the Lobbia glacier (5-6 hours).
