Here are the main developments planned for the coming seasons
Cable car transport resumes on occasion of the Festa della Repubblica with the opening, in Campiglio, of the 5 Laghi gondola for the long weekend from 2 to 5 June – an incentive for a first summer holiday in the mountains. Then, from Saturday 11 June, the 5 Laghi will be open again, as will, gradually, all the others (the Grostè gondola from 18 June, Spinale from 25 June and Pradalago from 1 July), with at least one lift open every day until 25 September. In October, it will be the Pradalago gondola that provides autumnal access to high altitudes, opening the weekends of 1-2, 8-9 and 15-16 October. Travel also resumes on the Pinzolo- Campiglio Express, which will remain open for over 2 months, from 9 July to 4 September.
In Pinzolo, the Prà Rodont gondola will be open for the weekend of 11-12 June, then continuously from 18 June to 11 September, and again for the weekends of 17-18 and 24-25 September. The Doss del Sabion lift will be accessible from 25 June to 11 September.
Having confirmed the general summer mobility system in the valleys used as the main entrances to the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta – Valu di Fumo, Val Genova and Vallesinella (2-5 June, 11-12 June, 18 June-18 September paid for, weekends up to 16 October) – some interesting additions have also been made. A bike sharing service will be available, with e- bikes available to rent from Piana di Nambino and Patascoss for Malga Ritorto. Then, every Tuesday in August, on “Slow Mobility Days”, from 10:00 to 15:00, the access road to Vallesinella will be closed to vehicle traffic in order to encourage “soft mobility” and allow the area to be enjoyed on foot or by bicycle. To encourage the use of collective passenger transport, car park tickets will include the mobility service within the Park’s valleys and Madonna di Campiglio.Lastly, visitors who chose to buy their car park tickets online will benefit from lower prices.
SLOW TOURISM IN SPRING
Two new slow tourism projects will characterise the spring. The first, “Cycle Through the Flowers”, supported by bike bus services from 16 April to 5 June, invites visitors to discover the cycle routes of Val Rendena (24 km from Ponte Pià to Carisolo) and Valle del Chiese (29 km from Lago d’Idro to Bondo), drawing their attention to the spring blooms. 600 species of flowers have been identified and mapped along the two routes: from snowdrops to medicinal plants such as potentilla, hypericum, plantain and silene, as well as some rare orchids. The second, “Adventures by the water”, is a selection of 12 fascinating routes from Madonna di Campiglio to Lago d’Idro, are low and medium altitudes within the Parco Naturale Adamello Brenta, and allow visitors to discover the most spectacular and surprising waterfalls and lakes when they are at their best, from mid April to the end of June. The Val Genova waterfalls, the Cascata dele Cravatta waterfall (Val di Breguzzo) and Lago d’Idro, a treasure trove of biodiversity, are some examples. All 12 routes are mapped and described at campigliodolomiti.it.
NEW TOP EXPERIENCES AND EVENTS
The summer will see the debut of 4 new “Top Experiences”, alongside the “classic” experiences that have been on offer since summer 2020: “Savour the Moment”, “Login Nature”, “High Beaches” and “Secret Mountain”. From June, there will also be many events dedicated to travelling on two wheels: The Giro d’Italia youth event for under 23s (12-13 June), Top Dolomites Granfondo (17-19 June), Dolomitica Brenta Bike (24-26 June).
DOLOMEET CARDS: A NEW OPTION HAS BEEN ADDED
Alongside the usual multiservice card options, in the periods 11-24 June and 11-25 September and the weekends of 2-5 June, 1-2 October, 8-9 October and 15-16 October, it will be possible to access a new option for the DoloMeet Guest Card. Guests can choose to pay the host organisation €1.50 per person and receive the DoloMeet Guest Card which includes all services apart from lifts. Guests will have to add the Madonna di Campiglio and Pinzolo facilities separately (directly via the Guest Card app): 8 euros for 3 days, 10 euros for all other durations. (AV)
