Climate as a Common Good – Climate Action as a Matter of Social Justice
with Dino Zardi, Professor of Atmospheric Physics at the University of Trento
The climate emergency is a priority that can no longer be postponed. Climate change presents a series of urgent and unavoidable challenges for the future of humanity. People are aware of climate change because they experience it firsthand: it is no longer a question of belief—it is a fact.
We are in this situation because we rely on a development model based on the exploitation of fossil fuels. A change of course is essential. However, no action can truly be effective unless it is grounded in scientific knowledge, communicated in an accessible and citizen-oriented language that fosters awareness and sustainability. Unfortunately, the climate crisis is not only an environmental emergency, but also a humanitarian one, undermining the fundamental rights of individuals and communities.
