Caterina Pezzarossi, Junior Figure Skating champion
Caterina is 15 years, she lives in Carisolo.
She started ice skating when she was 4, following in the footsteps of her mother, who was a figure skater too. When Caterina was 6 she started her first competitions, distinguishing herself for her technique and determination. But the way to the success has been hard and Caterina is very busy: every day she has to combine school and sport, which both require a lot of commitment.
This great commitment has paid off and during the season 2018/19 she became an undisputed protagonist; she got on the podium in all the advanced novice elite Italian competitions!
Thanks to the scores earned during all the season, she got the call-up in the Junior Italian team, reserved to the figure ice skaters at the top of the Italian ranking, becoming one of the top-rated athletes of the local Val Rendena Figure Skating Club.
These important results have been possible also thanks to a staff of qualified technicians, guided by the trainer Sanna Remes – an athlete of the Finaland National Team – and composed of the choreographer Camilla Pistorello, the dance teacher Tiziano Chistè, the athletic trainer Nicola Bonazza and many people of the staff that have trained Caterina with passion.
All these people have contributed to the great growth of Caterina, who got her bronze medal in the Italian Championship of Bergamo (March 8-10, 2019), a competition only fot the best 24 figure skaters of the national ranking.
