San Giuliano Lakes

Caderzone Terme

A breathtaking alpine landscape featuring crystal-clear lakes, Presanella to the north and glaciers to the west atop the Care Alto-Adamello group for a panorama that evokes the splendor of the Great North and awaits to be captured in each and every shot.

From Carisolo or Caderzone Terme to Malga Campo, a spot with a beautiful view of Cima Presanella. From here, trail no. 230 crosses the right side of Val Genova to a dale and the pastureland of Malga San Giuliano (with a fantastic view of Care Alto). The trail then descends to the lake, where there is a chapel and the lodge. Not far from here, there is also Lake Garzone, which has been separated from the other lake by moraine and other debris. From here, the view is truly spectacular.

From late May, after the thaw, to late October, when the larch forests around the two lakes turn an incredible array of colors.

Early morning for the best light on Presanella, which is also reflected in the two lakes.

Polarizer filter to highlight the clouds, if present, and eliminate reflection off the surface of the water; tripod for long exposures.
