The Dolomite’s Fire Organizing Committee was officially created in the summer of 2009, after the first edition of the Guinness Torchlight Parade had been organized in March of the same year thanks to the work of the Local Tourist Office of Madonna di Campiglio.
A growth and structure that is not only formal but a necessity after the 2009 edition, born almost “by chance” from an idea of Mario Zanon, was welcomed with such enthusiasm that it went objectively beyond expectations.
Since the very first edition, Dolomite’s Fire has been able to count on the support of over more than a hundred volunteers who, with passion and spirit of initiative, have given their fundamental contribution to the organization of the event. The initiative was supported by a wide network of collaborators and sponsors, including the Funivie company of Madonna di Campiglio, the Ski Schools of the town, the volunteers of the Alpine rescue Squads, without forgetting the Police and Financial Police that allowed such an important even to be realized.
Despite the “craftsman-like” start, many of the competences and relations that were weaved allowed for the success of the first edition also through the excellent communication strategy that begin during the Christmas period of 2008.
AS a result, the event was immediately promoted adequately by newspapers and local radios, national private radios, Mediaset television channels, through both journalistic information shows and entertainment shows.
Obviously a “battage” of this type would not have even been an hypothesis if it had been able to count on the support of advertising and more specifically, on Marco Manfredi, and Gabriele Buora, who heads the production activity of the special initiatives, who shared and supported the beneficial goals of the project with their collaboration.
The first objective of the Dolomite’s Committee has always been to raise funds for the Magica Cleme Onlus Foundation, an association that works at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza and, together with the Cancer Institute in Milan, treats children suffering from oncologic diseases.
The success recorded by the event and the potential regarding future editions, have led organizers to deposit the name and logo of the event, in light of an eventual greater interest and involvement in this type of initiative. The Committee president, Mario Zanon, in fact, makes no secret about the fact that he would like to extend this initiative to the surrounding areas, involving more and more the Province of Trento and, in the future, why not?, the entire Dolomite area.
