This beautiful river springs up from the Adamello-Presanella mountains and the Brenta Dolomites and crashes over the rocks before gradually flowing more tranquilly as it nears Lake Garda. One of the best rivers for fishing in the Trentino region and throughout Italy, it is teeming with wild brown trout, including trophy sizes, especially in the fishing reserves.
Come discover the best spots, such as: the waterfalls of Val Genova; the crystalline waters of Val Nambrone; and the rocky gorges of Val Brenta. Some of the river’s banks are easy to access, but local knowledge is required in order to access the best spots without difficulty. Fishing season runs from February to October and features a cool climate that is ideally suited to fly fishing. The shallow flow of the Sarca River, too, makes it a much loved destination for fly fishing and for practicing a whole range of techniques, from dry fly and streamer fishing to the ever-popular wet-fly and nymph fishing.
