ALONG ANCIENT TRAILS AND NEW PATHS with Maura Gasperi, coordinator of the Cammino di San Vili; Loredana Bonazza, creator of the La Via delle Valli project; Graziano Righi, promoter of the Cammino di Carlo Magno.
PROGRAMME:
6.00 pm: at the Castagneto in Carisolo.
Walking is not merely a means of getting from A to B; it is an ancient, intimate act, capable of transforming a landscape into a story and a region into an experience of the soul. It is with this in mind that ‘Il Mistero dei Monti 2026’ is dedicating a session to the great walking routes of western Trentino: the Cammino di San Vili, the Cammino di Carlo Magno and La Via delle Valli. Three routes, three stories, three different ways of traversing an extraordinary region. The Way of Saint Vili follows in the footsteps of the Trentino bishop, weaving together faith, history and nature on a route that winds through valleys and villages with the quiet depth of sacred places. The Charlemagne Trail evokes the legendary passage of the Carolingian emperor across the Alps, along routes that preserve traces of a distant era and a civilisation that shaped Europe. The Via delle Valli, with a more contemporary outlook, links Alpine valleys, inviting walkers to explore the area mindfully. Those who walk are not merely seeking physical exercise: they seek connection, discovery and meaning. They seek the landscape that changes with every bend in the path, encounters with the local community, and the authentic flavour of a region that reveals itself step by step.
