The Darzo Pro Loco, in collaboration with Miniere Darzo and other local associations, is organising a day out in the countryside to explore the mountains above the village, amongst the mountain huts, mines and communal pastures. This year, the event will take place at the former mining site to mark its reopening following extensive renovation work. There will be an opening ceremony featuring a tasting of local produce.
PROGRAMME:
8.00am: organised hike led by a mid-mountain guide. Meeting point in Darzo at Piazza XVI Artiglieria (700 m elevation gain, moderate difficulty). Limited places.
10.00am: self-guided tour of the renovated buildings, featuring accounts from former male and female mine workers.
11.45am: opening ceremony with official addresses, a blessing and ribbon-cutting. Speeches by MUSE and the Trentino Historical Museum Foundation, accompanied by a musical introduction.
12.45pm: free, itinerant tasting of local food and produce.
From 1.00pm: entry to the S. Barbara tunnel (in accompanied, limited-size groups).
Throughout the afternoon: refreshment area open.

The Miniere Darzo site can be reached by car from Storo (Cà Rossa), heading towards Faserno, or on foot from Darzo along the Miners’ Trail.
