The Responsible Tourism Festival stops off in Tione, near Trento.
A discussion on forests and the landscape.
PROGRAMME:
6.00pm: What role do parks and nature reserves play in safeguarding the landscape?
This is a highly topical issue, not only because of the constant environmental changes brought about by climate change – which are continually shifting the boundaries of ecosystems – but also because of the effectiveness, years after their establishment, of the bodies responsible for safeguarding protected areas.
Are we on the right track? Are we responding adequately to the original founding mandates of these bodies? What strengths have been brought to bear over the years?
Speakers:
- Francesco Dellagiacoma, former forestry officer with the Provincial Forestry Services
- Luigi Casanova, president of Mountain Wilderness
- Stefano Zanoni, coordinator of the Alpi Ledrensi and Judicaria UNESCO MAB Biosphere Reserve
- Sara Zappini, director of the Provincial Protected Areas System (PAT)
- Antonio Nicoletti, National Head of Protected Areas and Biodiversity at Legambiente
