Cycling and mountain biking

Paved and unsurfaced roads and old cart paths crisscross all of Val Rendena and are ideal for two-wheeled fun, with a variety of routes to suit every cyclist’s needs.

24 routes for mountain biking, which wind along the valley to Madonna di Campiglio, such as the Ritorto route, Vallesinella, the trail to Rifugio Bedole in Val Genova or the one that takes to the lakes of Cornisello.

For a number of years now, there is also the popular Dolomiti di Brenta Bike, Trentino’s wonderful mountain bike tour through the western Dolomites, which can be done in multiple stages over the course of several days. It is a mountain bike circuit around the Brenta Group for serious mountain bikers and adventurers: 171km (106mi) with 7,700m (more than 25,250ft) of total climbing.

For families and less strenuous trips in general, the best itinerary is the over 20km of bike path that runs along the Sarca river, crossing the entire Val Rendena without a great deal of climbing.

Free from steep hill climbs, the path meanders along a peaceful winding route, which makes it ideal both for families with kids and for those who wish to enjoy nature without tiring themselves out. The bike path unfolds as through the meadows of towns such as Lavrè, Darè, Vigo and Pelugo, crosses the stream which flows down from the Valle di Borzago and cuts through Spiazzo and Mortaso, before crossing the river again to reach Strembo and entering the town near the headquarters of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Continuing on towards Pinzolo, the bike path lines Crosetta Park and its sports equipment, passes underneath the state road and branches off circle-like near Caderzone. It enters Carisolo and travels through Val Genova, bordering beautiful Nardis Waterfalls, or lining the paved road - no longer open to traffic - and the via vecia way up to San Antonio di Mavignola, which is the toughest uphill climb to reach Madonna di Campiglio.
