The knife-grinders of Val Rendena are waiting for you to sharpen knives, scissors and blades free of charge... and to tell you about this ancient craft. Organised by the Pro Loco di Pinzolo.
PROGRAMME:
From 4.30 pm to 7 pm: in Carera Square and neighboring squares there will be a number of sharpeners known as “moleta.”
In the squares, with their characteristic whistle or call, they will offer free sharpening as a symbolic gesture, telling the story of the craft and the art passed down through generations.
On the occasion of the Fourth of July, their presence takes on a commemorative value: they pay homage to manual labor and folk traditions, recalling a past of ingenuity, toil and community.
An ancient ritual that lives again amid the sparks and the sound of metal coming back to life.
