Sunday July 7: excursion to Lago Campo with Nicola Segatta, composer, cellist, luthier, and author
Nicola Segatta is a composer, cellist, luthier, and author. He studied with Enrico Bronzi, Rocco Filippini, Marco Decimo, and Giovanni Sollima. Since 2011, he has performed his music with La Piccola Orchestra Lumière, a kaleidoscopic ensemble for which, alongside pure music, he has written soundtracks for silent films, radio dramas, music for theater, and dance. Since 2010, he has worked as an improvised composer for stage music for the theater workshops of director Marco Alotto in Italy and France. He released the album Shakespeare for Dreamers (SquiLibri – Visage, 2017) and for Quadrivium by EGEA the work Ikone (Quadrivium – SquiLibri, 2020) and the Byzantine Concerto for cello and orchestra (Quadrivium, 2020). He was an assistant to American artist Tim Linhart in building ice instruments.
Path description: the trail leading to the beautiful Lago Campo alternates between flat sections and gentle ascents, among sparse larches and rhododendron bushes, accompanied by majestic views of the ridges surrounding the Val di Fumo. In the glacial basin that encloses the small lake, the remains of an ancient mountain hut justify the lush grasses that have grown on the abandoned pasture.
