The hiker, from San Lorenzo in Banale, explored 37 of the 50 valleys included in the new territorial discovery project created by the Madonna di Campiglio Tourist Board over the course of a year.

The recognition is granted to those who have completed at least 35 valleys and validated them by collecting the corresponding stamps on a paper credential (although valleys can also be recorded through a digital credential).

The recipient was Pierluigi Bosetti from San Lorenzo in Banale. A lifelong mountain enthusiast, hiker, and long-standing member of the San Lorenzo in Banale section of the Italian Alpine Club, he has also developed a passion for long-distance walking routes in recent years, both in Italy and abroad, most recently completing the Camino de Santiago.
His journey along La Via delle Valli began in August 2025 and has so far earned him 37 stamps, corresponding to the valleys he has visited. His goal, however, is to complete all 50 valleys by the end of this summer.
“My encounter with La Via delle Valli,” Bosetti explained, “happened almost by chance while browsing online and coming across this new initiative. I had already explored many of the valleys included in the project over the years, but the idea of revisiting them with a new purpose immediately appealed to me. What particularly motivated me were the credentials and the opportunity to collect a stamp for each valley reached, turning every hike into a stage of a broader journey. I explored some valleys on my own, others with friends, and still others with my wife, and I noticed that many of them are rarely visited. In fact, I often found myself completely alone while exploring them.”
The "sigillo"The sigillo, a symbolic parchment certifying the completion of La Via delle Valli after collecting at least 35 stamps, was presented to Pierluigi Bosetti by Tullio Serafini, President of the Madonna di Campiglio Tourist Board.
It is therefore a project aimed at visitors, but one that is deeply rooted in the local territory and its distinctive features. The sigillo awarded to Pierluigi demonstrates how this route can foster a profound connection with the area, encouraging a mindful and respectful way of experiencing it. For the Tourist Board, this is a source of pride and an opportunity for both the tourism sector and local residents to play a leading role in a project that has a local soul and a global ambition.
Our goal is to reach visitors from farther afield and encourage the discovery of the entire area, from Madonna di Campiglio to Lake Idro, just as Bosetti has done, gaining great satisfaction from the experience.”
Pierluigi and "La via delle valli"
The first valley Luigi Bosetti explored was Val Sorda, still unknown to the hiker from San Lorenzo in Banale at the time, while the one that surprised him the most was Val de Ribor.
“In the past,” the hiker adds, “I had visited it in winter, ski mountaineering, but walking through it in the warmer season allowed me to discover new aspects.”
Val Germenega, with its route leading to the San Giuliano–Garzonè lakes, is the one Bosetti considers the “most beautiful.” “However, it should be explored in autumn,” he adds, “when the larches light up in extraordinary colors and Presanella is reflected in the lake waters.”
