What should I do if I am in Trentino right now?

In accordance with the latest decree from the Italian government, all residents and guests in Trentino are asked to:

  • avoid travel, except for business needs or reasons of necessity or health. To be able to move about in Trentino, you must always have a self-certification form with you, downloadable here: . False reporting is a crime.
  • stay at least one meter away from other people and avoid crowded places The ban on public and outdoor gatherings is still in effect
  • wash your hands often
  • if you have a fever over 37.5 degrees, you are strongly encouraged to stay home and limit social contact as much as possible. You should also call your doctor
  • Anyone who has been quarantined or has tested positive for the virus is absolutely prohibited from leaving their home.


Are ski lifts open?

No, in compliance with the directives of the Italian government, to stem the spread of Coronavirus, all ski lifts and related ski activities have been suspended since 10 March 2020.


Are museums and art galleries open?

All museums and cultural centres are closed until further notice. Some museums are setting up interactive activities on their social media pages and websites to make their collections available virtually. Are theatres and cinemas open?

No, theatres and cinemas are closed throughout Italy. Additionally, all public meetings and events have been cancelled.


Is public transport operating normally?

Local public transport will be limited starting 13 March 2020; therefore, you should always check the Trentino Trasporti website before leaving. To protect all passengers, public transport vehicles will undergo additional daily cleaning. However, everyone is being asked help by rigorously maintaining the minimum distances and complying with all other prevention rules issued by the Ministry. Additionally, please be advised that in all of Trentino, for work related reasons or in case of a health emergency (including the need to go to relatives that are not self-sufficient) you can call the toll free number 800 390 270 (Elastibus) everyday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to reserve free transportation, so long as the request is submitted by 5 p.m. of the previous day. The service will be active starting Saturday 14 March 2020.


Are bars, restaurants and shops open?

Additional measures to contain and control the spread of the virus have been adopted throughout Italy from 11 March 2020. Restaurants, bars and shops are closed. However, grocery stores, pharmacies and drug stores remain open, as long as people keep a distance of at least one metre between them.


Can I participate in sport in Trentino?

All sporting events and competitions of every size and type have been cancelled, whether in public or at privately owned places. All gyms, sport centres, pools, swimming centres, wellness centres, spas and thermal baths (with the exception of essential assistance services), cultural centres, community centres, recreational centres and dance schools are closed to the public.


How can I get updates on the situation in Trentino?

The single emergency centre of the Trento Civil Protection Department has created a free multilingual telephone number for technical and health information concerning Coronavirus: 800867388 This number is available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. For more information, you may also dial 1500 at any time. Only call 112 in cases of emergency.

Also available is the TreCovid19 App, which provides certified information from official sources like the Province of Trento, APSS and the Italian Ministry of Health. The app provides, in addition to the latest news, numbers to call for assistance, guidelines, detailed information, useful websites, references, updated videos, along with national and provincial decrees and ordinances. It is updated constantly and, over the next few days, new functions will be added to remotely monitor people who are in isolation and patients who have tested positive and are in treatment at home.

Distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and anyone else.

Fever
If you have fever above 37,5°C, call your family doctor, stay at home and NOT go to the first aid.

Movement
It is forbidden to move to other municipalities, except for situations of necessity.

It is allowed to move for health reasons.
It is allowed to move for working reason. It is recommended to have with you the self certification.

Stay at home
Elders and immunodepressed persons or with diseases must stay at home.

Holy Masses
Holy Masses and religious ceremonies are forbidden.


Bars and restaurants
Bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants can open only from 6.00 am to 6.00 pm, respecting the social distancing of 1 metre.

Municipal offices
Almost all the services are available online. Essential and urgent services are garanteed.

Middle and large sales areas
Closed on Sundays, holidays and day before holidays, except for the food and grocery stores.

Go to the grocery stores
It is allowed to go to the grocery store, 1 person for family. Dealers must decide a maximum number of people entering in the grocery store, respecting the social distancing of 1 metre. Anyway, supermarkets and shopping centers must be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.


Go to the relatives
Going to the relatives is not a necessary movement. According to the decree you must stay at home as much as possible to avoid the spread of the virus.


Walk with the children
It is allowed to go out for a walk with the children, but avoiding places with crowds and gathering of people.


Elderly care
Elderly care is a necessary condition. But remember that elders are the people most at risk, so try to protect them from the virus as soon as possible.

Goods couriers
They are allowed to move.
