Lake Montagnoli

Lago Montagnoli title=

Easy walk, suitable for families with children, to the artificial Lake Montagnoli, an ideal destination for picnics and relaxation in an exceptional landscape, a natural solarium among the Dolomites.

Lake Montagnoli is the largest Italian basin for programmed artificial snowmaking. It is a real alpine lake of 36,000 square meters, capable of storing about 200,000 cubic meters of water, which allows the snow cannons to quickly cover the numerous kilometers of slopes of the Madonna di Campiglio ski area during winter.

Created by the Madonna di Campiglio Cable Car Company, Lake Montagnoli does not look like an artificial construction, but has the appearance of a real alpine lake nestled in a natural basin among coniferous woods: all details have been carefully taken care of to integrate it into the environmental context, starting from the soft and natural shape, not geometric, which perfectly fits into the natural landscape.

Lake Montagnoli is located just below Rifugio Montagnoli, in the Pian della Zedola area, on the Spinale side at 1764 meters elevation, and in summer it is a pleasant destination for a walk.
