Short but evocative circular walk that covers part of the defensive preparations of the Fontanabona barricade. The historical-cultural path is dedicated to Major Anton Malina, a figure of great importance in the context of the White War events, being the Austro-Hungarian officer who held the command role of the Fontanabona Subsector for the longest time.
The simple path near Fontanabona offers the opportunity to closely see traces of the Great War: remains of trenches, observation posts, caves dug into the rock, terraces that served as bases for the barracks, shelters for soldiers.
From Carisolo, follow the Val Genova road up to the Ponte delle Trincee, located shortly after the end of the "Scala di Bo" climb; cross the stream and follow a circular loop on its right side to then return to the starting point and complete another loop on the opposite bank of the river.
Suggested route for history enthusiasts and war relics.
Pay attention to the summer mobility schedules for access to Val Genova.
