Splendid medium difficulty circular hike between Val Brenta and Vallesinella. The two valleys lead to the heart of the Brenta Dolomites and the impressive Cascate di Mezzo waterfalls.
The hike takes place partly on snowy trails and partly on forest roads. The route is mostly within the white fir forest, sometimes crossing open spaces near meadows, mountain huts, and clearings while skirting clear streams up to the impressive clearing of Malga Brenta Bassa. Here, a breathtaking view opens onto the Dolomites and the Crozzon di Brenta which, with its west face, dominates the valley. The highest point of the route is the impressive Cascata di Mezzo of Vallesinella which, in winter, forms an extraordinary icefall, a stage for exciting ice climbing.
