A high and remote valley, surrounded by granite rocks resting on a lung of frozen water, to be reached by first crossing Val di Trivena, capable of offering sensations of total immersion in alpine nature.
To reach this isolated and lonely valley, which opens out at an altitude of 2000 metres, it is necessary to cross Val di Trivena, starting from the Ponte Pianon car park to reach the Malga Trivena mountain hut, and then Pian di Redont. The two valleys are united by the imposing natural amphitheatre of Redont, surrounded by a high rock face with three splendid waterfalls. What better place for a regenerating stop that fills the eyes and the soul, and then off you go! Along a path that slowly enters Val del Vescovo and becomes steeper and steeper until the last stretch, where it becomes almost flat and you walk on easily accessible granite slabs. Below you, a glacier pulsates with deep, refreshing sounds. Finally, you reach Porte di Danerba, where you can admire the Austrian blockhouse and the remains of a cannon nearby.
Continue your journey on La Via delle Valli, where you can choose to explore any of the 50 proposed valleys. Find out more at: www.campigliodolomiti.it/laviadellevalli.
You will find signs and stamps in the valleys from July 2025.
To reach Val del Vescovo, you have to cross Val di Trivena. So, remember to register your passage for one day to discover two valleys.
Once you reach Porte di Danerba, you can descend along the opposite slope through the majestic and wild Valle Danerba (signpost 249B), or you can descend into Val di Fumo, following two paths: 1) path 249 towards Val di Fumo; 2) path 223 towards the Breguzzo Pass and then descending into Val di Fumo, still following path 223, to reach the Val di Fumo mountain hut for a well-deserved rest.
