Valle di San Valentino - La Via delle Valli

Valle di San Valentino - La Via delle Valli title=

An easy walk in Valle di San Valentino through a picturesque rural landscape of meadows, huts, haylofts, paved roads and alpine huts cut out of the dense forest.

The excursion in Valle di San Valentino is easy and family-friendly, ideal for spending good time surrounded by nature. Along the way, you can stop at Rifugio Gorck to relax and admire the splendid view.
The valley takes its name from the small church dedicated to St. Valentine, built in the 14th century to protect the herds going up to the pastures. It is located in a panoramic spot offering a wide view of Busa di Tione, the lower Val Rendena, the Brenta Group and the Carè Alto peaks to the west. Only the apse and frescoes by Simone Baschenis remain of the original building.
The valley was once an important crossroads for contact with the Camunni people. Historical documents testify to the passage through the passes of San Valentino (2765 m), Mezzo (2805 m) and delle Vacche (2854 m); Passo di San Valentino is also the oldest link between Val Rendena and Val di Fumo.
In the Middle Ages, pyrite mining made the area unstable, causing landslides. Today, however, the right side of the valley is an authentic jewel of naturalistic value.

Continue your journey on La Via delle Valli, where you can choose to explore any of the 50 proposed valleys. Find out more at: www.campigliodolomiti.it/laviadellevalli.

You will find signs and stamps in the valleys from July 2025.
