Along the western shore of Lake Idro from Ponte Caffaro to Anfo
A new cycle and pedestrian path has recently been opened along the western shore of Lake Idro, connecting Ponte Caffaro to Anfo.
The route stretches for about 6 km along the lake and is suitable both for those who want to enjoy a walk and for those who prefer cycling. The surface is mostly unpaved and easy to ride, making it particularly suitable for gravel bikes and mountain bikes.
Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of the lake. Once you arrive, you can relax with a swim at the beach in Ponte Caffaro or, on your way back, at the small beach in Anfo. Both locations offer kiosks and rental services for SUP, canoes, and kayaks, as well as nearby restaurants where you can enjoy local cuisine.
During the summer season, a lake navigation service is also available, allowing you to reach your destination or return to the starting point by boat, with the option to bring your bicycle on board.
The cycle path also provides easy access to the Rocca d’Anfo, a majestic fortress built by the Republic of Venice and expanded during the Napoleonic era and the Kingdom of Italy. Today, it is the largest Napoleonic fortress in Italy and can be visited independently or with a guide.
