Creativity, Sophistication and Michelin Stars for Homegrown Gourmet Dining
Over the years, gourmet dining has become a fixture in the Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo and Val Rendena area. Here, three Michelin-starred restaurants and a range of other gourmet restaurants await diners looking for true excellence in Italian dining.
The Michelin star shines bright over Madonna di Campiglio
The prestigious Michelin Guide, an international point of reference for fine dining, has awarded various Madonna di Campiglio restaurants over the years with their first star.
The restaurant Il Gallo Cedrone earned this prestigious recognition in 2012. At the time, this restaurant within Hotel Bertelli was led by Chef Vinicio Tenni, a Trentino native. The Michelin Guide inspectors pointed to how the restaurant celebrated the aromas of the mountains, from the locally smoked hams and salamis to the cheeses from the Trentino region, while also praising the freshwater fish from the nearby lake and selection game dishes, all of which resulted in a gourmet experience set in the heart of the mountains. The Michelin star has since been renewed under the current Chef, Sabino Fortunato.
In 2013, Ristorante Dolomieu at the DV Chalet Hotel, led by Chef Enrico Croatti, joined the ranks of local Michelin-starred restaurants. With experience at famous restaurants in Europe and beyond, this chef from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy has a flair for the creative, producing dishes that feature a range of influences, from the mountains to the Italian coast, and take full advantage of local produce. The Dolomieu moved in the summer of 2018 and renewed itself under the skilled, creative guidance of Chef Davide Rangoni, who arrived in Madonna in the 2018-19 winter season.
The restaurant Stube Hermitage earned its own star in November 2018 to become the area’s latest Michelin-starred restaurant. Having been led for the last three years by Chef Giovanni D’Alitta within Bio Hotel Hermitage, this was actually the first Campiglio restaurant to have received this prestigious recognition (earning its star from 2008 to 2014 under Chef Paolo Cappuccio) and now continues this tradition of excellence with cuisine that is a union of creativity and tradition.
