The magic of Christmas returns to the streets of Quartinago di Cimego. From Saturday 29 November, the streets of this ancient village in the Valle del Chiese will be filled with music, lights, colours and the traditional flavours of local cuisine.
PROGRAMME:
SATURDAY 19 DECEMBER
10.00am: opening of the Cimego Christmas market.
From 10.00am to 6.00pm:
- Images from the Past – The history of the Valle del Chiese through a selection of vintage photographs and films, rediscovering the people, places, traditions and moments in the life of the Valle del Chiese community, organised by the Quatar Sorele Cultural Group
- Exhibition of nativity scenes in the little church of St Anthony, organised by the RSA P.O. Nicolini in Pieve di Bono
- Workshops and activities for children organised by the Italian Red Cross – Valle del Chiese Group
From 2.00pm: music with the Dolomiti Horn Ensemble, a musical journey through the evocative sounds of alpine horns and the magic of mountain melodies.
From 3.30pm to 4.30pm: story time for children, hosted by Barbara Candioli.
5.00pm: The Witches’ Dance. A re-enactment that tells the story of women persecuted as witches, to remember the past and reflect on violence against women in our present day
6.00pm: closing of the Cimego Christmas market.
SUNDAY 20 DECEMBER
10.00am: Opening of the Cimego Christmas market.
From 10.00am to 6.00pm:
- The art of bobbin lace – Demonstrations and workshops on bobbin lace-making organised by the ‘Al filò dal lundì’ Association, an opportunity to discover the ancient art of bobbin lace
- Images from the past – The history of the Valle del Chiese through a selection of vintage photographs and films, offering a chance to rediscover the people, places, traditions and moments in the life of the Valle del Chiese community, organised by the Quatar Sorele Cultural Group
- Exhibition of nativity scenes in the little church of St Anthony, organised by the RSA P.O. Nicolini in Pieve di Bono
- Workshops and activities for children organised by the Italian Red Cross – Valle del Chiese Group
From 2.00pm: music with Andrea Romei Acoustic Riot – guitar and vocals.
2.00pm: guided tour of the Marascalchi House Museum and the little church of St Anthony, organised by the La Fusina association and the Incontra cooperative. Meet at the museum entrance 15 minutes before the tour begins (ticket €3, free for under-14s).
From 3.00pm to 4.00pm: hand in your letters to Father Christmas… straight into his beautiful living room!
4.00pm: concert by the ANA Re di Castello – Daone Choir.
6.00pm: Cimego Christmas market closes.
