The magic of Christmas returns to the streets of Quartinago di Cimego. From Saturday 29 November, the streets of this ancient village in the Valle del Chiese will be filled with music, lights, colours and the traditional flavours of local cuisine.
PROGRAMME:
SATURDAY 12 DECEMBER
10.00am: opening of the Cimego Christmas market.
From 10.00am to 6.00pm:
- Images from the Past – The history of the Valle del Chiese through a selection of period photographs and films, rediscovering the people, places, traditions and moments in the life of the Valle del Chiese community, organised by the Quatar Sorele Cultural Group
- A journey through the history of the Great War, organised by the Great War Museum in the Valle del Chiese, Bersone – Valdaone
- Wood and Craftsmanship – Demonstrations of woodworking and woodcarving with the master craftsmen of La Büsier: the Praso School of Woodworking
- Exhibition of nativity scenes in the little church of St Anthony, organised by the RSA P.O. Nicolini in Pieve di Bono
2.00pm: guided tour of the Marascalchi House Museum and the little church of St Anthony, organised by the La Fusina association and the Incontra co-operative. Meet at the museum entrance 15 minutes before the tour begins (ticket €3, free for under-14s).
4.00pm: concert by the En Plein Choeur choir of the Giudicarie Music School.
6.00pm: closing of the Cimego Christmas market.
SUNDAY 13 DECEMBER
10.00am: Opening of the Cimego Christmas market.

10.00am: urban walk in the village of Cimego. A route to discover the area, the history and the unique features of the village, organised by Alpi ASD of Borgo Chiese. An opportunity to get to know the area and its characteristics more closely. Meet 15 minutes beforehand at the Pieve di Santa Maria Assunta in Condino. The route will wind through the hamlets of Borgo Chiese, finishing in the Quartinago neighbourhood, followed by a visit to the Cimego Christmas Markets. Participants are free to return at their own pace, with the option to walk back with the guides at around 1.00 pm. No booking is required.
From 10.30am: Christmas and traditional music with the artist Stefano Bordiga – trumpet, trombone and accordion.
2.00pm: guided tour of the Marascalchi House Museum and the little church of Sant’Antonio, organised by the La Fusina association and the Incontra co-operative. Meet at the museum entrance 15 minutes before the tour begins (admission €3, free for under-14s).
3.00pm: concert by the Croz de La Stria Choir from Spiazzo.
From 4.00pm to 5.00pm: handing in letters to Father Christmas… straight into his beautiful living room!
5.00pm: the witches’ dance. A re-enactment that tells the story of women persecuted as witches, to remember the past and reflect on violence against women in our present day.
6.00pm: closing of the Cimego Christmas market.

The event takes place mainly in outdoor and barricaded areas. Not all exhibition spaces, however, are accessible to people with significant physical disabilities.
