On this day, the return of the cattle from the mountain pastures is celebrated. The traditional protagonists of the event are milk, cheese and of course the animals from the surrounding pastures. But the real protagonists are the children: the day has incredible experiences in store for them, from milking the cows to learning how cheese is made.
authentic people's festivalThe sound of cowbells, the notes of the bands, but also the enthusiasm of the shepherds and the smiles of the participants. These are the ingredients of the Desmalgada on the Boniprati plateau, above the villages of Pieve di Bono-Prezzo and Castel Condino. The event has turned into an authentic people's festival: thousands of people take part in the event that was born in 2015 thanks to the 'La Desmalgada Committee', in collaboration with local authorities, to promote the typical products of the Valle del Chiese.
dip into the pastThe Desmalgada is an appointment thanks to which a rich series of events linked to rurality and the livestock world of the Valle del Chiese is proposed. The Ancient Values of Pieve di Bono parade accompanied by the San Giorgio band from Castel Condino, the Muscale band from Cimego and the Knödel Bergmusikanten group from Strembo, allows those present to take a dip into the past. And so, the youngest and many tourists can appreciate first-hand a tradition that is relived on the plateau every year, rediscovering ancient flavours and values, as well as customs and tools of a not too distant past.
FAMILY TIME There are numerous activities dedicated to children, in which they will have the opportunity to experience what life is like in contact with animals, from milking the cows to Casarada, with the possibility of taking the cheese home to eat it with mum and dad.

Those arriving by car can reach the Altopiano di Boniprati ONLY from Prezzo.
Dogs are only allowed on a leash and must not be close to the parade route so as not to disturb the animals..
A family area is available for parents, equipped with a changing table for newborns, a bottle warmer, and a breastfeeding station.
In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled. The Desmalgada Committee declines all responsibility before, during and after the event.
