The Boniprati Plateau is decked out in festive colours to mark the return of the animals from the mountain pastures. Join us in celebrating the 10th edition of "La Desmalgada".
PROGRAMME:
10.00am: tasting of local specialities.
11.30am: cattle parade, with the animals descending from the mountain pastures of the Boniprati Plateau accompanied by the Pieve di Bono Brass Band, the San Giorgio di Castel Condino Brass Band and the Knödel Bergmusikanten group from Strembo.
12.30pm: traditional lunch featuring polenta carbonera, cabbage, alpine cheese, dessert, wine or water. Alternatively, a farmer’s lunch is available at the Lupi di Toscana and Baita Boniprati restaurants in Boniprati.
2.00pm: "caserada" for kids and various games for children.
2.00pm: horse-drawn carriage rides with Vittorio’s horses, from the Maso Grisun farm in Borzago.
3.30pm: musical entertainment with the Antichi Valori group from Pieve di Bono.

Lunch is available on a fee.

USEFUL INFO:
New for 2026: a milking workshop with ‘Eva the cow’ for young children, running throughout the day.
A refreshment stall serving sandwiches, crisps and other treats will be open throughout the event!
To get to La Desmalgada: once you reach the hamlet of Creto (Pieve di Bono – Prezzo), turn off towards Prezzo and follow the signs for Boniprati.
Dogs are only permitted on a lead and must not be allowed near the parade route so as not to disturb the animals taking part in the parade.
In the event of bad weather, the event will be cancelled.
