The Adamello Brenta Nature Park is organising in collaboration with MUSE: “ICE - The future of perennial ice in our hands”.
The exhibition, realised by the MUSE-Museo delle scienze in Trento, has been set up significantly in the United Nations International Year for the Conservation of Glaciers and offers an overview of the glaciers that cover our planet. It has received the patronage of, among others, the Autonomous Region of Trentino Alto Adige, the Autonomous Province of Trento and UNESCO.
An exhibition that aims to draw attention, in a serene and reflective manner, to one of the most serious problems the world is experiencing at an environmental level, especially at high altitudes: the inexorable, continuous and rapid melting of glaciers.
Four perspectives have been adopted: the natural glacial environment with its dynamics and the distribution of glaciers in the world and in Italy; the scientific activities and surveys that make it possible to quantify the state of health of glaciers, study climate change and compile glacier “inventories”; the adventurous explorations on glaciological paths, with the observations of the first glaciologists and the discovery of Oetzi; the historical events and myths linked to the most inhospitable places in the mountain environment."
