The strength and life of the village between agriculture and livestock farming
Once upon a time, it was not craftsmanship that was the lifeblood of the village, but agriculture and livestock farming.
From the centre of the small village, we will move to the outskirts to rediscover the activities that enriched the lives of the people of Stora, who were perpetually divided between the countryside and the mountains.
With a fragile and simple lifestyle, the population was forced to diversify their income with a wide variety of crops: hemp, mulberry, wheat, corn, buckwheat, millet and many others. In addition to the valley floor, the mountain slopes were also populated and exploited by shepherds, woodcutters and charcoal burners, of whom only memories remain today.
