WUTHERING HEIGHTS
THE FEMININE
with Ginevra Bompiani
writer, editor, translator, essayist, and Italian academic
In 1978, Ginevra Bompiani wrote an analytical essay on the novel Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. Throughout her life, spent partly between Paris and London, she navigated and contributed to the historical backdrop of feminism and cultural life. She lives, listens, and translates her sensitivity to others into literary works. As a translator, she has worked on works by Antonin Artaud, Louis-Ferdinand Céline, Gilles Deleuze, Leonora Carrington, and Marguerite Yourcenar.
In 2002, she co-founded the publishing house Nottetempo, based in Rome, with Roberta Einaudi, of which she was editorial director and president until 2016.
The theme of the feminine weaves through her story like a red thread.
