Right at the beginning of the Val di Fumo, at an altitude of 1778 metres at the foot of the Adamello, there is a place where you can admire a spectacular example of the coexistence of nature and the work of man.
The Malga Bissina dam is set in the landscape in a truly suggestive way and, blocking the course of the Chiese river, gives rise to the artificial lake of the same name. The reservoir is among the largest in Europe and can hold up to 60 million cubic metres of water, whose power is transformed into clean energy in the Malga Boazzo hydroelectric power station.
Thanks to the installation curated by the Dolomiti Energia Group, together with expert guides you can enter the base of the dam and visit the astonishing interior, discover the secrets of hydroelectric production and relive the construction phases of the dam in the 1950s through a new exhibition itinerary, amidst historical photos and dizzying heights.
