Michela Bortolozzi (1986) is a Venetian artisan and artist who develops projects at the intersection of art, sustainable design, and territorial enhancement. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts and completing two master's degrees (one at IUAV and one in Marrakech, where her project won an award for its social value), she deepened her craft practices in Palestine, Morocco, South Africa, and Kenya. She has collaborated with the François Pinault Foundation, the Venice Biennale, and the National Gallery of Cape Town. In 2023, she opened 'Relight Venice' in Cannaregio, where she creates sculptural candles and sustainable crafts inspired by Venice. Since 2022, she has involved female inmates from the Venetian women's prison in production, combining craftsmanship and social inclusion. Featured in the Louis Vuitton City Guide, selected by the Homo Faber Guide, in 2025 she will speak at TEDx Venice on craftsmanship, sustainability, and the future of cities.
