industrial archaeology siteDarzo is home to one of the most extraordinary industrial archaeology sites in the Trentino valleys, the Darzo Mine.

In fact, for over a century, barium sulphate extraction, which began in the end of the 1800s, shaped the economy and society of this corner of the Valle del Chiese.

Barite, the white goldToday, the abandoned mines of white gold, this little known mineral that is very useful in the photographic industry, medicine and radiology, are revived with the Mine Road that talks of the positive and negative sentiments that united entire generations of valley inhabitants and non-inhabitants with the mines.
