The Rifugio Collini al Bedole stands at the top of the valley of the waterfalls (the name given to the Valle di Genova, and if you’ve been there you’ll know why). In summer, you can get close to it by car from Carisolo (toll road) or by public transport or mountain bike, but the last stretch of road from the plain of Malga Bedole to the refuge can only be done on foot or by bike: a 10 minute walk to get in tune with the rhythms of this valley, one of the most beautiful (and popular) in the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. Here, at 1640 metres above sea level, in a spot which can be reached by all mountain enthusiasts, the Collini family continues a tradition of hospitality begun in 1932 by mountain guide Adamello Collini. There are also short easy walks from the refuge in the direction of Malga Materot (50 minutes, difficulty E) or Ponte delle Cambiali (30 minutes, difficulty E). You can return to the valley along the easy Sentiero delle Cascate (Waterfalls Path) down the Valle di Genova, or just do part of it then catch the shuttle bus.
