Due to the value of the artefacts found in them, perfectly preserved by the ice, access to the tunnel is restricted and must be booked on advance (contact the SAT (Association of Trentino Mountaineers) on +39 0461 981871). In winter the refuge is a centre for many ski mountaineering routes and snowshoeing outings: Adamello (3 hours), Corno Bianco (3 hours), Cima Cresta Croce and the cannon (1 ½ hours), Cima Giovanni Paolo II (1 hour), Corno di Cavento (2 ½ hours), Cima Caré Alto (4 ½ hours) and Cima Lares (2 ½ hours).
