Baita Gorck, 1175 m of ... beauty. Want to know why?
Baita Gorck is immersed in the Adamello Brenta Natural Park, the largest protected area in Trentino. – It is located in the Val di San Valentino, of rare charm, made up of meadows, chalets, barns, cobbled paths, streams, and mountain pasture huts nestled in the thick of the woods, at the foot of the majestic Carè Alto. The valley takes its name from the small church of San Valentino, built in the 14th century to protect the herds that ascended to the mountain pastures. The Baita's electricity is 100% eco-friendly: 4 kW is generated by a hydroelectric turbine powered by the Rio Malga Geredol and 4 kW produced by solar panels. It is a starting point for beautiful hikes: Passo di San Valentino (2765 m), Valle di Cavento, Bivacco Dossòn (2360 m), Bocca di Conca (2674 m), Rifugio Carè Alto (2459 m), Val di Borzago (trail marker no. 222), Passo delle Vacche (2872 m to descend into Val di Fumo), Costòn della Vallina, Bivacco della Cunei (2750 m), Malga Geredo (7773 m).
The Baita offers both catering, with simple, typical local dishes, and accommodation (9 cozy bedrooms, for 21 guests).
