Valley to be traveled along an ancient forgotten and recently rediscovered road. Easy route, with brief challenging stretches, rich in unique views and... an exciting challenge for families!
The starting point is the parking area of Pineta, just outside the town of Storo, where the deep gorge of the Ampola Valley begins. After crossing the iron bridge which crosses the Palvico stream, it is advisable to make a short detour before climbing up the ancient road to admire the Pòs Malmerio waterfall. Once there, it will be easy to understand why. After staying there as long as you wish, return back a few hundred meters to take the path that climbs along the mountain slope. Dry stone walls supporting some points of the ancient roadbed, caves carved into the rock, the coolness of the woods, and the depth of the Ampola gorge are the ingredients of a singular excursion, away from crowded places, in a secluded and peaceful environment.
The endpoint, wrapped in the shade of the trees and accompanied by the sound of the stream, is a natural refuge that offers a regenerating and unforgettable experience.
