Ski mountaineering tour in the Valle del Chiese, in a wild and uncrowded setting, with beautiful views over Lake Idro.
The path begins above the village of Brione, from an altitude that may vary depending on snow conditions. Follow the road or cut across slopes to reach an aqueduct at an altitude of 1,550 m, either directly on skis or by driving as far uphill as possible.
Follow the clearly visible track entering the woods, and coming out right below the Dos di Laven, which you can reach shortly by following the SSE ridge. This climb and descent (from the W side) is a fun optional variant. Otherwise, continue around the base of the Dos di Laven, in the direction of Malga Serollo.
Then continue W, until reaching the visible small pass on the right of Cima Pissalat (1850 m), along gentle, easy slopes. Here you can enjoy a spectacular view to the north-west, with the Grotta Rossa peak in the distance.
Until the Cima Pissalat pass, the path is not especially hard, and is also suitable for snowshoes. Beyond that, experience, physical fitness and technical preparation are required. On the way back, if you are wearing snowshoes, follow the line you left when climbing up into the woods, down the Dos di Laven (do not come down on the eastern slope).
