Cima Pissalat with snowshoes

Cima Pissalat with snowshoes title=

Beautiful snowshoeing loop in the Chiese valley, in a quiet and secluded setting, with splendid views.

From the parking lot at 1240 m (junction for Valle Aperta), follow the left road and after 200 m take a forest road on the right. The trail, steep and at times barely visible, emerges from the woods near Malga Rive (1653 m). From there, continue west towards Malga Serollo (1719 m). Continue Southwest for about 500 m where you can choose two options: climb to Cima Pissalat via the SE ridge or avoid the peak and instead aim for the saddle to its right. The first option is more technical and demanding (WT3), the second on easy and gentle slopes (WT2). In both cases, descend the same line of ascent. After crossing the Dos di Laven, follow a path leading to an aqueduct at 1550 m, where you continue on a dirt road. Return to the parking lot by cutting across the slopes or following the main road.

The climb to Cima Pissalat is definitely more challenging than reaching the saddle on its right. Both destinations can be omitted if you want to shorten the route, returning by the same ascent line or closing a loop that goes around the Dos di Laven.
