Panoramic route through the wide Condino pastures, walking for long stretches on roads built during World War I by the Italian army.
A little-known peak to the general public and off the beaten tourist track, the Grotta Rossa peak presents an exceptional panorama over the better-known Valle Aperta and the Bruffione peak area. For the most part, the ascent retraces the old roads built during the Great War and, apart from the final stretch, has modest gradients.
Be careful when ascending the final stretch to the summit to avoid slipping, as there are rock faces and quite high rockfalls on the north slope.
