This almost 30 km long route, with over 2000 m of altitude difference, climbs from Storo through woods and meadows, tunnels and trenches from the Great War, until it reaches the Tremalzo clearings.
Length and altitude difference make this hike a complete experience from the valley floor to the surrounding peaks. The route offers varied alpine landscapes, views over Lake Idro and Cima Tombea, and historical sights such as restored barns, trenches, tunnels and battle stations from World War I. The route alternates between grazing meadows, mule tracks in the forest and sections carved into the rock and tunnels.
Due to the long walking times, combined with a significant length and altitude difference, this route is suitable mainly for well-trained hikers.
