Exciting route in the typical pre-Alpine landscape along trails and old mule tracks, through the pastures where the renowned Bagoss cheese is made.
The Malgaro route crosses an area of Trentino characterised by wide open spaces and panoramic views, including Lake Idro, nestled between the mountains of Lombardy and Trentino. This loop trail offers impressive views in the initial and final sections, while the middle section stretches across pastures and mule tracks dating back to World War I. In summer, the landscape comes alive with the sound of the cowbells of grazing cows. The route is fairly long, with a moderate altitude difference, and it is overall rewarding for those who travel it.
There are no bivouacs absent, you must go back to the valley to find a place to spend the night. Recommended period: from May to October, when the route is usually snow-free.
