Passo di Campo is one of the most fascinating and popular destinations in the Val di Daone, thanks to the convenient trail crossing the picturesque Lago di Campo.
The route starts from the large parking lot at the Malga Bissina Dam, at the entrance to the Val di Fumo, known as 'Little Canada' due to the abundance of water running through its slopes. It continues in the opposite direction to the junction with Trail 245, on SAT Trail 242. The route follows a slightly downhill trail, and then climbs back up between sparse larch trees, offering splendid views on the Breguzzo and Carè Alto peaks, until it reaches the basin of Lago di Campo. The stretch of water reflects the Sega d'Arno, a jagged ridge that rises from Passo di Campo to the scenic Monte Re di Castello. The trail continues along the northern shore of the lake, then ascends through pastures, rhododendrons and the last of the larches to Passo di Campo, where the environment takes on the granite characteristics typical of the high-altitude Adamello massif.
Treat yourself to a well-deserved refreshment break at Lago di Campo, particularly enchanting in autumn when the larches take on their characteristic golden foliage.
