Challenging winter hike that can be done with snowshoes or ski mountaineering, starting from Campo Carlo Magno, passing several mountain huts and leading to the intermediate station of the Grostè cable car.
The hike first crosses the plateau of Campo Carlo Magno to Malga Mondifrà: a very sunny open environment throughout the day; then you enter a dense and suggestive coniferous forest dominated by Norway spruce, alternated with white spruces and larches. Here you encounter Malghe Vaglianella and Vagliana, near which the vegetation begins to thin out. Looking up, you can admire up close the imposing south walls of the Dolomite massifs of Vagliana and Pietra Grande; further south the view spans the central part of the Brenta Dolomites and the Grostè ski slopes, which are found at the end of the route near Rifugio Boch.
Along the route there are three refreshment points: Carlo Magno Refreshment, Malga Mondifrà and Rifugio Boch.
At the end of the hike, you can return to Campo Carlo Magno by lift or by ski, via slope.
