Val Brenta - La Via delle Valli

Val Brenta - La Via delle Valli title=

This is an easy walk in one of the most famous valleys of the Adamello Brenta Nature Park, in front of the summit of Crozzon di Brenta.

Val Brenta is made up of two large plateaus, Brenta Bassa and Brenta Alta, which give their names to the alpine huts along the route. Here, nature has created a majestic landscape of rock faces, screes and peaks sculpted by time, framed by the small glaciers that surround the imposing Crozzon di Brenta.

Water accompanies the path with streams and waterfalls, while the valley opens up into one of the most spectacular natural amphitheatres in the Brenta Dolomites. Despite the abandonment of the alpine huts, the shepherd’s soul of this place still survives in the silence of the meadows.

It was from the alpine hut of Malga Brenta Alta that the English mountaineer D.W. Freshfield described the Crozzon peak in words full of wonder: “Full opposite to us rose a colossal rock, one of the most prodigious monuments of Nature’s forces”.

Continue your journey on La Via delle Valli, where you can choose to explore any of the 50 proposed valleys. Find out more at: www.campigliodolomiti.it/laviadellevalli.

You will find signs and stamps in the valleys from July 2025.

THE NEIGHBOURING VALLEYS:

From Val Brenta you can reach Vallesinella through two different routes:

- From Malga Brenta Alta you can go back to Malga Brenta Bassa and from here turn right along the Dolomiti Brenta Trek cycle path until you reach Cascare di Mezzo, in Vallesinella. This is the easiest route.

- From Malga Brenta Alta go up towards Rifugio Maria e Alberto ai Brentei along path n.323. Shortly after Malga Brenta Alta, turn left onto the Violi path, which is not difficult and has rocky passages in exposed areas that can be slippery after rain (signpost 391). The path leads to Rifugio Casinei. From the mountain hut, you can either go directly to the Vallesinella restaurant (signpost 317) or take path 317 B, which goes past Cascate Alte. This alternative is more difficult because of the exposure.

Val Brenta is also the entrance to Valagola.
